Seawalls

-What you liked about their work?

I liked the clear and relevant pictures in their powerpoint
presentation.

-What new information you learnt from them?

I learnt that seawalls have to be carefully maintained as the backwash
can destroy the base of the seawall, causing it to collapse.

-Suggest how they could have presented their work better?

They should add more powerpoint slides ,organise their information in
a neat and systematically way .

more diagrams to better potray how exactly seawalls are damaged over
time

Seawalls

i like the clear explanation of seawalls

I learn that seawalls protect the coast by absorbing wave energy

They should add some animation.

Front, back wash & gabion

i like their labeling

i learn that the erosion/deposition of the coast is affected by the
front and back wash

They should add some animation. [i believed there's some error in the

1.Sewalls.

> 1. what you liked about their work
The photographs (background of the slides) were beautiful.

> 2. what new information you learnt from them
the main objective of seawalls is protect the coast against strong
waves, especially during storms. The disadvantage is that it is
expensive as it needed to be maintained and it must be changed
overtime due to erosion.

> 3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
They should have changed the font colours.

Longshore Drift.

> 1. what you liked about their work.
The presentation is very clear and it is easily understood.

> 2. what new information you learnt from them
The swashes helped to push the material up the beach and backwash down
the beach.

> 3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
Though it is clear, the presentation is rather plain, they should add
more colours as it look a bit dull.

I learnt that seawalls is a form of coastal protection, although its
maintenance price is expensive.

Suggest how they could have presented their work better.

1. what you liked about their work
Short and sweet

2. what new information you learnt from them
-Seawall is needed to protect the coast, thereby lessen coastal
erosion

3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
- Make it more informative. Additional one or two more slides.

2. what new information you learnt from them
i can now understand in depth the formation of the longshore drift.

As waves break against the seawall,
the energy from the waves is redirected
downwards, to the base of the seawall,
resulting in a strong backwash

3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
Explain in more details and organise their points in points form

> 1. what you liked about their work
The first presentation i like is seawalls as it is very
organised and the second presentation i like is the cliff and notches
as it is very colourful and will make us want to read and you can
read it without difficulty.

> 2. what new information you learnt from them
Seawalls need to be maintain in a good condition. Not everywhere
we can find notches as easily as we can find cliffs.

> 3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
For the first presentation they can enlarge the words a little
and make it colourful and still can be read. The second presentation
can change the colour and not used the same colour.

If possible, label the pictures to identify where the seawalls are. It
would be clearer.

Although the presentation is short and clear, add some animations to
make it more engaging.

1. what you liked about their work
Their work is neat and presentable.Pictures were clear and nice.

I learn that the seawall is built in front of a cliff or along
the coast to protect a coast from erosion and it is man-made.

3. suggest how they could have presented their work better.
They should put a video.

Long shore Drift

I like their work because the information is short and simple and the
diagram explain the thing well.

I have learn that long shore drift is about the sediment moving along
the shore same with the wave direction.

They can maybe elaborate more.

Seawall

I like their work because there is enough information about the
seawall

I have learn that seawall absorb energy to reduce the wave energy

They can maybe label more on the picture or give diagram
