Hello!

We are looking for participants for our upcoming FREE Spring psych ed groups for people who are interested in real-world connections, engaging and learning at their own pace to support their mental wellness. Gathering outside of a digitally saturated world where the noise of it disappears for a couple of hours once a week for seven weeks. We would like to offer the Youth (18-30) Y Mind program at the Cook Street Activity Center and another location to be determined. With enough interest we can do one at our Westhills Y location.

Our groups are about purpose — finding meaning and belonging. The question shifts from the chaos of why is this happening, to open curiosity and learning tangible tools and strategies of what I can do, how I will do it in a way that is authentic to me.

Be and feel useful, giving and receiving peer support. Our in-person experiences offer alternatives to online actions, letting participants contribute, create, and connect in a way that truly matters. Not just as part of an anonymous crowd, but as part of a community.  Moving away from endless, insignificant, “Instagrammable” moments into engaged discovery, unveiling values and strengths, trading predictable schedules for spontaneous moments that feel alive. Curated moments that challenge or push them beyond their comfort zone (in a good way), to navigate towards a more meaningful life.

If they are looking for experiences that truly resonate and want to connect and participate with people through shared experiences that feel alive and authentic to support their resilience; please connect us. They can join us this spring, be guided by trained mental health professionals, get a free workbook, Happiness Trap graphic book, and a Y membership while they are in the program. 😊

Any support you can provide by sharing with all your contacts or post on social media. FACEBOOK POST

This group is not intended for people who experience high levels of anxiety. Although family members of people with higher levels of anxiety and other mental health challenges could benefit. They sometimes get forgotten.

A past Youth participant comment:

“It has had a hugely positive impact. I find myself able to do things I never would have thought possible six months ago. I have slowly become more comfortable with discomfort and find myself seeking out situations where I can grow and be challenged.”

We have information sessions open for registration posted on our website and group dates below, everyone must attend an info session and following intake to make sure the group is a good fit:

  • Victoria location: Wednesdays April 29th to June 10th,  2026, Cook Street Activity Centre from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

  • Location TBD: Tuesdays May 5th to June 16th, 2026, from 6 pm – 8:30 pm.

If you are interested in partnering with us to deliver either Teen (in community or in school) or Youth programs in your area, please contact: lmil...@vancouverislandy.ca
