We are here and we are free!
Hi!
We are looking for participants for our upcoming FREE Winter psych ed groups for people who could use some support. We would like to offer the Youth (18-30) program (location TBD) and a virtual program over Zoom for anyone in the Vancouver Island area.
Do you know any youth/young adults (under 31 years old) that struggle with stress (school, social, future), anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, self-doubt, social pressure, perfectionism, comparison culture (social media), finding purpose, managing difficult emotions? Worried about their education or career? A new parent? Getting a divorce? Caregiver? Social worker or teacher? Starting a new job? New to the area? Out of work? Athlete or performance artist? Alive?! Life is challenging. We get it. This program is designed to help navigate life with strength using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. We will guide them through building awareness and skills to be flexible with their thoughts, introduce self-compassion when feeling uncomfortable emotions, and begin to define living by what's important to them now. They will learn how to be true to themselves. Unlock their potential and build emotional intelligence so they can thrive.
The group is meant to support them to better understand themselves and have a healthier relationship with their worries, stress and anxiety. They can join us this winter, meet like-minded peers, be guided by trained mental health professionals, get a free workbook and a Y membership while they are in the program (if in the Victoria area). 😊
Any support you can provide by sharing with all your contacts or post on social media. This group is not intended for people who experience high levels of anxiety. Although family members of people with higher levels of anxiety and other mental health challenges could benefit. They sometimes get forgotten.
Some past Youth participant comments:
“I met some wonderful people who I hope to stay connected with.”
“The best part was coming to an accepting place every week where there was no judgement, talking with others who share similar experiences, learning new things and getting out of the house.”
“My relationship with stress has changed in that I feel more accepting of it and less afraid of it. I feel less consumed by it, it feels like part of the normal human experience and not something specific to me.”
We have information sessions posted on our website and group dates below, everyone must attend an info session and following intake to make sure the group is a good fit:
We have a partnership with Pacific Centre Family Services to deliver the Youth program on the Westshore if you know anyone in that area.

“The most important relationship we can all have is the one you have with yourself. The most important journey you can take is one of self-discovery. To know yourself, you must spend time with yourself, you must not be afraid to be alone. Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” – Aristotle.
“Self-acceptance is my refusal to be in an adversarial relationship with myself.” –Nathaniel Branden
