YSPN'ers,

This is my first post to the network, and I want to express my
appreciation for all that you are doing in Victoria! I'm Kevin
Thiessen, the Pastor of Outreach and Missions at Central Baptist, a
downtown church on Pandora Ave. In watching and listening to the
conversations and issues being dealt with through YSPN, along with
relationships with staff at local schools and alternative programs
such as the wonderful ladies at Artemis Place, I'm looking to bring in
my friend and expert Marv Penner.

We've booked him for Thursday, May 10 - Sunday May 13, and at the
moment there's still some flexibility to maximizing his time in
Victoria. I've attached his bio and presentations below, and I'm
wondering if social workers, educators, youth workers, or counsellors
would appreciate a chance to meet and learn from Marv. I am happy and
willing to host something at Central Baptist, but am also open to
bringing him to another venue if requested.

The beauty of what Marv brings to the table is not just 40 years of
experience and knowledge, but his ability to bring a practical
approach ... his content will be stuff you CAN use. Though my main
intent is to cover areas dealing with self-harm and self-injury, you
can see below other areas of his expertise. PLEASE, as I'm new to
Victoria, and to the whole network, I want to be available to the
needs of the larger community. We have a couple smaller events set
up, but I asking the larger network if I can serve you too. My email
is kevi...@shaw.ca and my number is 250 385 7786. Please contact me
asap if you'd like to hear from Marv. As his time fills I will post
the firm details of what events will be happening.

Thank you,

Kevin Thiessen
