The Newberry Township Police are currently organizing the Fourth Annual running of the Dare To Care 5K, to be held the morning of Saturday September 4, 2010. Registration for the race begins at 7:00 am with an 8:30 am start. The event involves a 5k run/walk, followed by an awards ceremony. The 5K run/walk will take place in Newberry Township and Lewisberry Borough. All proceeds from the race will go to the Newberry Township Police Dept. T.E.A.M. Program which is a program designed to stress the importance of resisting drugs and violence. Other topics will include, peer pressure, self-esteem, and dealing with school violence
