We hope you can join us on Wednesday, May 7, at 7:15 pm for York Road Partnership's monthly General Membership Meeting! These meetings are best in person in the terrific room at Govans Boundary United Methodist Church at 5210 York Road (enter from the back parking lot through the red door as shown on street view here), but feel free to register for the Zoom option if you need to.

Here is our agenda. YRP's members will be electing our 2025-2026 officers and board at the meeting, and the agenda includes the candidates on the second page. You'll notice there are two candidates for my position, so your YRP member vote is important! We have 23 YRP members signed up so far, but we had 37 members last year, so please sign up here if you haven't already done it. Each member organization will have one vote.

After the election we will discuss some important priority setting YRP will be doing over the next couple of months, in conjunction with the York Road Improvement District and Invest York Road. At York Road Partnership we have talked quite a bit in recent General Meetings about working with the citywide organization BUILD, and at this meeting we will be proposing that we formally join BUILD, paying $1,000 in dues. You can find what that means on page 2 of the agenda and an upcoming series of BUILD leadership trainings on page 3. We believe this kind of community leadership development will be one of the biggest benefits to York Road Partnership of joining BUILD. Please feel free to reach out to me or any YRP leader with any questions about YRP taking this step, or bring them to the meeting.

Finally, Sam Storey of the York Road Improvement District will share with us a new program they hope the City's new Opioid Restitution Fund will support to help people on our corridor who are in crisis from substance use disorder and/or homelessness. YRID's current Clean & Green Ambassadors often encounter people asking for help, and this program and its partnerships would enable YRID to have a more robust and effective response.

We are up to 27 YRP members signed up. If you haven't gotten to it yet, you can quickly sign up online this afternoon or fill out a paper form at the meeting tonight. Each signed-up YRP member gets one vote in our elections tonight for 2025-26 officers and board.
