INTEGRATING AGRICULTURAL AND HEALTH RESEARCH

FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT – TWO RESEARCH FELLOWS

The London International Development Centre has been awarded a £3.5m grant by the Leverhulme Trust to develop an innovative programme to link agriculture and health research for international development in the new Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health. This brings together research groups from six University of London Colleges, comprising economists, sociologists, anthropologists, nutritionists and epidemiologists to develop a programme of inter-sectoral and inter-disciplinary research, supported by new appointments, studentships and courses.

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is seeking to make post-doctoral research fellow appointments in Agri-Health Economics (1 post) and Nutrition and Sustainability (1 post) to join the Leverhulme Centre. These two research fellow positions will build upon preliminary work concerning the agricultural, health, economic and environmental effects of dietary change.  Candidates will have a PhD in an appropriate discipline (e.g. health economics, other quantitative social science, nutrition, epidemiology, public health) and show drive and ambition to build projects using inter-disciplinary approaches.
