Last year, applicants could choose from almost 14,000 Chevening-eligible courses across over 100 UK universities. However, you only get to select three for your application, therefore it is important to select the three courses that best match your career plan and future aspirations. Here are some top tips to help you choose the right course.
#1 Search and research
Consider the courses that will best match your aspirations. Think about what the institution can offer you in terms of course content, teaching standards, career prospects, and student satisfaction. There are a large number of higher education institutions all around the UK and we encourage all applicants to consider their choices carefully.
By the time applications open, we will have updated our course finder which is programmed to only return courses that are eligible for a Chevening Scholarship.
If you have a query about whether a particular course meets the Chevening requirements you can ask the Chevening Secretariat. However for course-specific queries please refer to the university directly.
#2 Remember the requirements
Chevening funds master’s courses at any UK university, regardless of whether the university is a Chevening Partner or not. Although there are advantages to applying to a Chevening Partner university, you have the option to choose any UK university you want.
Details of the course eligibility criteria can be found here.
Please also remember...
1) Even if you already hold an unconditional university offer you will still need to include three courses in your Chevening application.
2) You can choose three different courses at one university, three different courses at three different universities, or three of the same course title at three different universities.
3) Once your application has been submitted, you cannot change your course choices.
