The Butterfly Trust presents a varied programme of music performed by talented young people in what is always a delightful and inspiring afternoon.

The Trust is raising funds to further its aim of providing support at home for the families of people who are looking after a sick or injured relative

allowing that person to remain in familiar surroundings with their loved ones for as long as possible.

Carers recommended by the Trust attend a short course extending the skills and knowledge they will need in their work, including aspects of palliative care.

These courses are put on by Nairobi Hospice, who do not themselves currently  have funding to provide residential care - all the more reason also to support the Hospice, by attending (and, we hope, enjoying) the performance of Messiah, described underneath the Butterfly Trust poster!

Voices for Hospices

Every third year, many choirs in Nairobi join together with the Nairobi Music Society Choir, soloists and Nairobi Orchestra to perform the great music of Handel’s Messiah.
  • They join in a worldwide movement known as Voices for Hospices, on what is now officially World Hospice Day.
  • Several hundred performers put in weeks of practice, glad to help to raise funds for Nairobi Hospice, supporting its vital work in caring for people with life-limiting illnesses.

  • As the Hospice describes it, their mission is to put life into their days, not just days into their lives

  • See the poster below for some of the participating choirs and all details
