Dear Colleagues and Faculty,
I
am pleased to share with you that CHLA has been named a Leapfrog Top Hospital for patient safety and high quality health care services by The Leapfrog Group.
Fewer than 100 hospitals earned the award, and CHLA is one of only 12 children’s hospitals in the U.S. to receive this honor.
Being a Leapfrog Top Hospital is a direct reflection of the high standards that each member of our CHLA team places on providing patient care that is safe and of the highest quality.
The Leapfrog Group has championed transparency, value and excellence in health care for fifteen years and their Top Hospital designation is widely considered one of the most exclusive awards for quality of care in the country.
To be named a Leapfrog Top Hospital, CHLA demonstrated lower infection rates, higher survival rates for high-risk procedures, decreased length of stay and fewer readmissions for its patient care than the vast majority of its peers.
I want to share my congratulations with each and every one of you for your commitment to high-quality patient care and, in particular, to the members of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety department, who continue to point the way forward. Congratulations to each of you for this tremendous achievement!
