Hello,

Just wanted to see if anyone has an opinion on this topic.

Highrise does not have projects and task lists like Basecamp does so when synching to Gmail tasks we create artificial task list names similarly to how we do it in the Basecamp<->Gmail case: "^Project ~Tasklist", for tasks from cases or deals it is the "^Project" form (^Dealname or ^Casename) and for all other tasks it is the "~Tasklist" form, simply one name "~Highrise".

These artificial tasklist names dont seem to be that convenient actually in the Highrise<->Gmail case as most tasks in HR are assigned to contacts or unassigned  and so all end up in the "~Highrise" tasklist in Gmail.

We're thinking of tossing this "^Project ~Tasklist" artificial tasklist name creation going from HR to Gmail and simply use HR categories as Gmail tasklists. Also maybe syncing uncategorized HR tasks into the default Gmail category (the one w/o a name).

 What do you think?

Alexey:

I think that's a great idea.

Mike,

I’ve implemented this change, testing now ... May be able to deploy this tomorrow.
This seems to be quite convenient actually, I even started using the HR categories myself :).
I’ll let you know once the update is deployed.

Mike, you can give it a try now.
