Hi All, a question came today to my personal email, I thought I would
share my response here:

> I've been looking at the email thread discovery. It appears that it only pulls emails

> to go build a history for all my customers?

You're right, the "import contacts emails" mode only looks at the
recently arrived emails and when you started it went back only
2-4weeks
otherwise it could have taken too long to discover everything.

Backdating is an option but I woud suggest an alternative. If you
turn on the "import flagged emails" option then you can flag messages
of the threads you would like to discover (flagging one message per
thread should be enough) and Yoxel would go after those.

Note: It will also go after any other flagged threads that you may
have had
earlier. There is another that option that works just like flagging
but is based
on a special folder (by default 'Requests'). Instead of flagging if
you move or copy
some messages there (in Gmail it would be Request label) Yoxel will
treat them
as thread discovery triggers and will start discovering.

Btw, flagging a message is a convenient way to create a new contact
in Highrise because if a message is forwarded and can't find an
existing contact to file under it creates one.

FYI: at the moment discovering is limited to Inbox and Sent Items so
if you organized emails in various other folders Yoxel wont find them.

FYI: at the moment only the text body part of a message is filed in
HR.
A user has recently requested to also grab attachments and file them
in HR so
hopefully we'll be implementing that some time next year.

The "import contacts emails" mode probably what will cover most of
your needs but in addition you could check out filters. You can setup
them to capture additional emails (from the newly arriving) to trigger
more discoveries:
