Just wanted to mention a few benefits of having the email integration
(email forwarding into Highrise) enabled:

- When the "import flagged email" mode or the filter based email
importing enabled you can easily add new contacts (together with the
whole conversation) into Highrise simply by flagging/starring Exchange/
Gmail one message in your Inbox (or Sent Mail folder)

- Once a conversation is forwarded it is tracked and any new comment
is automatically captured and forwarded into Highrise

- When applying email filters it is possible to define tagging for
forwarded conversations which will translate into tagging on Highrise
contacts.

- Also special tags can be defined in the email filters which will
result in creating a task in Highrise (for a specified user).

If you like the idea of flagging conversation for transferring into
Highrise but don't want to use the "start"/"flag" for this it is
possible to enable Gmail/Exchange label/folder based marking. Ask us
about this.

A quick follow up on the original post. We have enhanced our email scan filters a bit so that now they can catch your flagged/starred messages.
This way by a flagging/starring a message in your mailbox you can forward the thread into Highrise and automatically create a follow-up task for it.

You need to use the special tag 'task:<email>:<taskPrefix>', where the email will define who the task is assigned to in Highrise (a user with the email needs to exist)

Let me know if you would like to give this a try.
