Please share this information about NextGENOA EDE 2018 to anyone that might be interested. We're truly sorry if this email bothers you.

* WHAT IS NextGENOA EDE 2018?
This NextGENOA EDE is a four week course held in January that is certified by Gaia Education & recognised as a contributor to UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This EDE will be held at Gaia Ashram which is located in the North-East of Thailand. The NextGENOA EDE is intended for youth (ages 23-33 years old) from Asia & Oceania who are already active in the sustainability movement & who are very interested in becoming part of NextGENOA (the youth movement of the Global Ecovillage Network of Oceania & Asia).
The EDE participants will also be joining the NextGENOA Networking Conference held in a forest Park.

* WHAT CONTENT WILL BE INCLUDE?

The NextGENOA EDE (four weeks 28th Jan – 26th Feb 2018) followed by NextGENOA Planning Meeting (28th of February-3rd of March, 2018)
The curriculum for this course has been developed by Gaia Education & this Ecovillage Design Education programme, that is often referred to as ‘EDEs’, provides students of all ages with the knowledge and practical skills on how to design a society which uses energy and materials with greater efficiency, distributes wealth fairly and strives to eliminate the concept of waste.
- Week 1: Social Dimension (29/1 - 3/2)
- Week 2: Worldview Dimension (5-10/2)
- Week 3: Economy Dimension (12-17/2)
- Week 4: Ecology Dimension (19-24/2)

* WHO SHOULD JOIN?
- Age : 23-33 years old.
- Active in sustainable living practices in any aspect at any level(local/regional or global).
- Deeply interested and able to commit to become part of NextGENOA team to create a strong network and movement of the young within the region & local areas.
- Committed to work/connect with GENOA country representative of your country.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Applicants from each country should have mixture of gender.

* HOW TO APPLY?
1. First sent a motivation letter to us at next...@gmail.com
2. After we received the motivation letter from you, we will sent you the application form.
3. Fill in application, sign application form and submit to NextGENOA at next...@gmail.com.
4. When we receive the application form we will send you a link where you can a deposit of your participation by paying 100 $ through Eventbrite as to show their commitment to the programme.(the rest of the fee – 450$- we ask you to pay at arrival of the program)
5. After you have done the deposit we will send you information package with full details for your preparation.
* DEADLINE: before January 10th, 2018.

* HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The fee for joining the whole program is $550. 
The actual fee is much higher & we have made a very strong effort to keep the fee very low. Part of the fee has been provided by NextGENOA through crowdfunding & the support of Gaia Trust. This fee covers food, accommodation, teaching material & teacher fee. It does not include travel expense and visa fee.

For those who cannot afford the 550 USD we recommend trying to set up a crowdfunding campaign for the EDE and raise the funds in this way. We can recommend using the permaculture crowdfunding website Wethetrees 

* WHERE IT IS?
The NextGENOA EDE will be hosted at Gaia Ashram which is an alternative Education Center on Ecovillage Design, Permaculture & Deep Ecology located on 2 1/2 hectares of land in the North-East of Thailand.

* WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES LIKE?
- Facilities: Gaia Ashram provides basic facilities and the basic needs of participants will be met.
- Accommodation: Dormitory, second floor of the Gaia Sala. Mosquito nets, cushions, bedding and blankets are provided.
- Common Space for sessions: Indoor session will be held at the first floor of Gaia Sala & the Mini-Sala and practical session will be happening on the land.
- Toilet and Shower: compost toilets and showers for men and women.
- Internet: Internet Shop in the next village is usually available everyday. We have a few bicycles available. We will provide trip to internet on Sundays.
- Food: Healthy local vegetarian food will be served by local cooks. Participants will team up to cook breakfast in turns and on Sundays there is the space for participants to also cook lunch and diner.
- No Alcohol or Drugs: We ask participants not to drink alcohol or use drugs on the land. We ask smokers to smoke at the smoking corner only. This will help to provide healthy environment for learning and living together for one month. We encourage people to take this one month as an opportunity to have a break from their smoking or drinking.
