Young citizens coming from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar who demonstrate leadership through academic work, community involvement and extracurricular activities, have a strong concern for the environment, and have a good command of English are invited to apply for the program.

The training course “Young, Wild and Living Green” is organized in order to equip youth leaders with knowledge of Ecological lifestyle, give them a chance to practice it in a new way, and inspire them to convey the message of ecological lifestyle to their communities.

Program Overview

Environment degradation and climate change have always been burning issues. Causes of environmental issues diversely vary from consumption to production activities; therefore, human lifestyle is one of major contributors. Should one change his/her lifestyle to be more environmental-friendly, the light for a better environment might be shred on the Earth.

The practical training “Young, Wild and Living Green” aims to build and foster ecological lifestyle among the youth by raising their awareness of its role in tackling global challenges, such as resource efficiency and biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, poverty eradication and social well-being improvement.  The program will use experiential learning techniques to expose participants to current themes in the field, including sustainable agricultural practices, food security, ecotourism, and energy conservation.  The issues will be explored from numerous angles: individual, group to entire community. Finally, the training will develop ecological lifestyle in the context of globalization, and draw connection to the participants’ community.

This program, offered to 35 youth leaders from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar, will take place from May 13th to May 18th, 2015 in Hoi An, Quang Nam.

The program aims to

·       Introduce the youth leaders to ecological lifestyle;

·       Creat a regional network of ecological lifestyle ambassadors from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar

·       Inspire these ambassadors to apply ecological lifestyle in their daily lives and take actions to spread ecological lifestyle to others
