Techfest the annual Science & Technology festival of IIT Bombay plans to have a social entrepreneurship competition this year. Techfest is the Asia’s largest Science and technology festival. Verizon targets youth with the vision of a society where everyone takes initiative and fights for a change that he seeks in the society. This is platform of Ideas which can bring about a change in the society.
The competition is structured in a very unique way. It scales throughout the nation and is bifurcated in various stages.
First stage is questionnaire stage in which people will file in nominations via a questionnaire asking basic thoughts on their idea.
Candidates selected by this will be giving telephonic interviews
After this, there comes the most important and unique part of our program, mentoring. We feel that participant knows only tip of the iceberg. Their idea should be articulated properly to make a desired impact. Mentor will provide advice on planning, marketing, financial systems, funding/finance sources, managing people, networking and other issues
After mentoring stage, candidates will be finally presenting in front of judging panel which will consist of some fellow social entrepreneurs, venture philanthropists, academicians, foundation chairpersons, leaders of successful NGOs, legal experts, and policy-makers. They will provide help by funding, tools and support to the ideas which they look forward to development
Last date of submitting the questionnaire is 25th August.
