Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am writing this letter to inform you that I am stepping down as the
Director of Youth Speaks Seattle. I'll be transitioning to an advisory
position, as I am leaving the country to pursue my Master's degree in
Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Nottingham in the UK.
Youth Speaks Seattle will continue to provide high-quality, socially
relevant literary and performing arts programming for teens in the
greater Seattle area. Our weekly writing circle, monthly open mic and
annual Slam Series are excellent opportunities for young people
interested in the written and spoken word. Thanks to widespread
community support, our last two years have been the most successful
yet, and many exciting collaborations are currently in place for the
upcoming year, including partnerships with the Seattle Public Library,
SCAN-TV, Pongo Publishing, and more.
If you are in need of presentations, performances, or workshops in the
areas of youth arts education and empowerment, please contact Spokes
Youth Board Coordinator, Robin Park,
pa...@u.washington.edu, and
Outreach Coordinator, Rose McAleese,
rose....@gmail.com.
To discuss partnerships, fiscal matters, or new ventures, contact
incoming Director and longtime YSS advisor Aaron Counts,
unb...@msn.com.
For general information or to volunteer, please write

Thank you for your continued support.
