Let's keep the fire burning folks!

Happy 2012 everyone!

Following the call to break the silence by Muazu, Esther and Dr Bridget, we have since gone quiet and cold again.

Remember its the age of social media and we are in a global village but still maternal mortality in Nigeria as at DHS 2008 is 545 deaths per 100,000 live births and childhood mortality 157 per 1000, current use of any current family planning method remains at 10% with an unmet need for family planning at 20%.

Challenges abound, but we are young advocates, we can reverse the trend, we can stop the unseen tears and we can kick start the crucial interventions necessary for Nigeria.

Obviously we are all working hard in microcosms, but we know the power of a coalition and how having one voice will slowly but surely give us gradual breakthroughs. Its the 45th CPD in April, themed Youth and Adolescents. Where is Nigeria, the giant of Africa with a teeming population of million youths in the scheme of things? Many other activities are going on locally and internationally, lets keep the fire burning folks!

Best,

Foluke

Dear all,
Thanks Venessa for that, I think we should plan a meeting to revive our movement toward achieving MDGs 4 and 5. I think meeting will help us with next actions and targets.

Thanks

Hello everyone,
There is so much to be done and we can start with small steps like writing blogs, visiting policy maker or sending letters to the govt demanding more actions.

This are things we can do so lets start,.,

Dear all,

I think this is another idea proposed by the co-founder of this great movement, writing blogs, advocacy, and open letters to the government.

Thank you Esther.

Dear one and all,
Perhaps, someone got shut in the face, and had to sleep off! However, we can still tag along, when the capacity is there for us to utilize...i just want to add that in whatever we do...don't leave out on-site meetings, even if its 1ce in a month - I think there was an action plan for this group...and we also talked about a viral mail! Anyways, those are just reminders - Way to go my people...Lets have the action plan...we'll make it work!

Kind Regards

Hello,
I'm really glad we are in the spirit. Thanks Olu for reminding us of action plans. But it all boils down to passion and commitment. It is important to keep it simple. So I will reiterate Olu's point..let's remain online. It is cost effective. Let our work complement what we are doing already. Let it be focused. If we are writing letters, let us be coordinated. It may be simple but significant.

My prayer is that we remain stronger.
