NYP-NEC presented the Youth Award to

The National Youth Project, National Executive Committee presented the National Youth Leadership Award 2016 to Mr Jambey Dondu from Tawang, Arunacha Pradesh on 7th February 2016 at a function organized in KIIT, Gurgoan. The Award included the Certificate and Rs. 10,000/-. The Award presented by Dr. S. N. Subbarao (Bhai ji), Director, National Youth Project.

PM Modi hails youth for embracing ‘Startup India’

Praising the youth for turning ‘Startup India’ into a reality by embracing the scheme and launching initiatives across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was amazed by the level of creativity and the scale of development being displayed by the youngsters. It was a rare incident that the youth were connected with each other through the programme,” the Prime Minister said in his 16th ‘Mann kiBaat’ address on 31st January 2016.

 

Youth Convention to mark birth anniversary Swami Vivekananda 

 The Youth Convention based on the theme "Awaken to Your Life’s Purpose" was held to commemorate the 154th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda held at Ramakrishna Mission premises in New Delhi and attended by large number of youth from various school and college.

 

Youth to go for self-employment: Skill Development Minister

Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union ministerfor skill development and training said self-employment is the best way to address the issue of unemployment in the country, less than 5% Indians come under the earning class as opposed to countries like China, Japan, UK and US where about 60 to 70% of the population has earning capacity. "Although the government is introducing various policies, India doesn't have the capacity to provide employment to every youth," he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the three-day 2nd Youth Empowerment Summit organized by Fortune Foundation, at Mankapur Sports Complex, on 30 January 2016.

 

Australia-India Youth Dialogue held

The fifth Australia-India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) held atthree places Delhi (27 January), Mohali (28-29 Jan.) and Bengaluru (30 Jan). Youth leaders from both countries discussed the issues related to culture, sustainability and entrepreneurship.

 

Australia's Acting High Commissioner to India, Chris Elstoft, said he was delighted that the future leaders of both countries were already considering how to enrich the relationship as they foster strong bonds of friendship. "I have been pleased to see the AIYD evolve into a meaningful platform for Australian and Indian youth to engage on contemporary issues of common interest, including sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship," Elstoft said.

 

Arunachal Governor asks youth to develop Arunachal

Arunachal Pradesh governor JP Rajkhowa has called upon the youth to come forward and devise ways to harness their power and energy to develop the state and the nation. He was talking with member of Arunachal Youth Organization and invited their suggestions for exploiting their potential in games and sports, adventure activities and in competitive examinations. The governor has also sought full cooperation of the youth in plugging the leakage of government revenue and their active participation in 'good governance', maintenance of peace and communal harmony. The governor advised them to be watchful of any misuse of development funds and faulty implementation of projects. The meeting held at  Raj Bhavan at Itanagar on 30th January 2016.

 

Khezhakeno Youth Organization general session held

The Khezhakeno Youth Organization (KYO) held its 32nd general session on 22 January 2016 in Kohima and Pukhayi Sumi, Parliamentary Secretary for Soil & Water Conservation as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Pukhayi said that Khezhakeno is an ancestral home of the Nagas, adding that most of the major tribes have migrated from this village. KYO president L. ViengoloKoza delivered presidential address

UN Special Session on Drug Problem

The United Nations General Assembly Special Session, UNGASS, on the world drug problem will be held on 19-21 April 2016.

The UNGASS will be structured in five different thematic areas:

1. Drugs and health;

2. Drugs and crime;

3. Human rights, women, children and communities;

4. New challenges, threats and realities in addressing the world drug problem;

5. Drugs and (alternative) development.
