Mohd Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India, Inaugurates NCC Republic Day Camp
Vice President of India Mohd Hamid Ansari has urged the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets to protect and promote pluralism in our society which has given a unique, composite national identity that is a source of envy for the rest of the world. Inaugurating the NCC Republic Day Camp – 2015, in New Delhi on 8th January 2015, he said the National Cadet Corps sets a shining example of national integration and communal harmony. He said every society has fault lines based on social, economic and political differences and we are no exception. We are still facing challenges of poverty and underdevelopment on one hand and communalism, casteism, linguistic and regional chauvinism on the other, he added. The Vice President said that the duty of a good citizen is to remain true to the constitutional principles of liberty, equality, fraternity and justice for all.
The Vice President complimented the efforts of National Cadet Corps, the largest uniformed organization in grooming the youth of the country and its contribution towards “Nation Building’. He also mentioned that NCC is and would be in the vanguard of all activities of our youth helping to channelize into a creative force to usher in social changes through spectrum of activities that are a powerful instrument for spreading awareness in society at the grass root level.
Earlier, on his arrival, the Vice President was received by the Director General, Lt Gen AniruddhaChakravarty.2070 Cadets including 707 girl cadets drawn from 17 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the country are participating in this camp.

non-governmental network organization, committed in developing areas of mutual
cooperation and understanding among different youth voluntary agencies, youth
groups, clubs and individuals working in the field of youth welfare in
India.
ICYO
functions as an umbrella organization of youth NGOs in India. It's family
consists of
over 550 organizations spread in 124 districts of 26 states from
different corners of India.

ü To improve and extend the youth work and services through Youth Organizations;
ü To enhance and demonstrate youth work in the society;
ü To promote effective youth programmme;
ü To organize network of civil society organizations working towards the development of youth work;
ü To organize seminars, conferences, workshops, trainings;
ü To maintain international relation with organizations promoting young people in their programme and activities
