19th National Youth Festival, 2015 to be held at Guwahati, Assam

 

The 19th National Youth Festival is to be held at Guwahati, Assam from 8th to 12th January, 2015 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Greatest Youth Icon of India. Chief Minister of Assam Shri Tarun Gogoi will be the Chief Guest and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affair and Sports Shri Sarbananda Sonowal will preside over the opening ceremony at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.

 

National Youth Festival is one of the most important events organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports wherein about 5000 youth from all over the country congregate to show their grit and metal in the field of art and culture.

 

The five-day festival will showcase various shades of youth talent through Yuva Kriti, Food Festival, Young Artist Camp, Youth Convention, Suvichar and Adventure activities. Besides these there will be other competitive and non-competitive events which will reflect youth power from different states. (Business Standard)

ICYO functions as an umbrella organization of youth NGOs in India. It's family consists of
over 550 organizations spread in 124 districts of 26 states from different corners of India.

Our goal:

ü  To improve and extend the youth work and services through Youth Organizations;

ü  To enhance and demonstrate youth work in the society;

ü  To promote effective youth programmme;

ü  To organize network of civil society organizations working towards the development of youth work;

ü  To organize seminars, conferences, workshops, trainings;

ü  To maintain international relation with organizations promoting young people in their programme and activities
