The Lebanese Muslim Association would like to introduce its new educational initiative - Positive Intellect Programme (PiP).
The programme focusses on empowering young people to engage religiously and politically to positively contribute to society. The LMA aims to create a space for genuinely open discussion about difficult political and religious issues and highlight the crucial role education plays in creating resilient communities.
The project aims to
enable young people to develop skills, knowledge and confidence required to influence others. The project will work to build understanding and equip young people with the theological fundamentals that counter ideological readings, dispel misconceptions and develop their role as citizens, leaders and positive role models.
This has the potential to impact the attitudes and behaviours of young people seeking richer Islamic knowledge and awareness across the community. It will allow greater understanding of Islam and the role Muslims play in a secular society, and dealing with the challenges of identity.
A focus group will be selected consisting
of 5 males and 5 females who will be exposed to an intensive 6-week immersion experience. Majority of training will occur during weekday evenings.
Expressions of Interest are now open for those interested in becoming the focus group of this programme and all are encouraged to apply for a placement. Applications must be submitted by the 8th of February COB.
Very limited spaces are available.
