Welcome to the new-and-improved Student/Farmworker Alliance news and announcements email list! This list will still bring you the latest breaking news and ways to get involved in the innovative, worker-led Campaign for Fair Food, but in a much more functional (and, we think, nicer-looking) format. Send us feedback on the switch!

SFA is now offering scholarships to help groups mobilize to the Farmworker Freedom March!
Apply today - Deadline is April 1

In response to the critical importance of the Farmworker Freedom March, SFA is offering a limited number of scholarships for students and youth who might otherwise not be able to attend. Preference will be given to those planning to attend the entire march (Friday through Sunday, April 16 through April 18) and those who will be collectively organizing vans, carpools, caravans, or buses. Individuals are also welcome to apply and will be given consideration if/when scholarship funds for groups are exhausted.

Apply today - Deadline is April 1 - and see you in Tampa!

...Still looking for a reason to get your group together, apply for a scholarship, and join us in sunny Florida for the most important mobilization for farmworker justice in years and what promises to be an historic and unforgettable 3-day march, rally, concert, and celebration of dignity and people power? Check out the SFA site today for a timely reflection on the Farmworker Freedom March and CIW marches of the past.

In the face of increasing intransigence from Publix - the largest grocery chain in the South and one of the largest private corporations in the country, with 2009 sales of $25 billion - the movement for Fair Food needs you today more than ever.

Carpools, vans and buses are being organized from cities around Florida and the country. For more details on the march and how you can get to Tampa and be a part of making history, visit http://www.ciw-online.org/freedom_march/ or contact ma...@ciw-online.org or 239-657-8311.

The rally in Lakeland will also be your last chance to see the phenomenal Florida Modern-Day Slavery Museum in person! The Museum's centerpiece is a cargo truck, outfitted as a replica of trucks involved in the latestfarmworker slavery operation. That very truck will symbolically and powerfully lead the march from Tampa to Lakeland as we call on and end, once and for all, to slavery in the fields.

Finally, please donate to SFA today to help defray scholarship and mobilization costs from the Farmworker Freedom March.

Thanks, and don't forget to let us know what you think of the new list format!
