The Lost Art of Dreaming
It is said that the twenty-first century has made the younger generations less and less daring as prior centuries have been. Young people in these days of “all for self, and none for all” have not stepped out into the mainstream of revolutionary change or innovation, especially in Africa, because of lack of that lost art of dreaming.
Why dream, young? Societies, economies, nations, and wealthy enterprises, are all built and established by dreamers, a bulk being young. No matter what the circumstance is and the situation may be restrictive, nothing can stop a dreamer from emerging and going to new heights in prominence. Dreaming is what advances man from one Age to the other. Dreaming is what shapes mankind’s future, establishing what used to be a thought, into a literal aspect of our lives. Dreaming is the reason for being alive tomorrow, as tomorrow can only be kept safe in a dream. Dreaming is the evidence of hope, and hope is the reality of faith, which faith is the establisher of the dream.
Losing the art: new age slavery Our nation, even continent is at a regression from advancement only because the young person has seized to dream. The young person has become a new age slave; a slave to the entertainment icons, fame, games, fun, and all pleasures unheard of. The new age slave does not want to be uncomfortable, go without essentials or anything that is less than the usual. The new age slave does not want to suffer today for the sake of tomorrow. This slave is comfortable labouring for the other person’s dream as long as their stomach is filled each day. This slave would sell their birth right ten times over just to get a plate to eat and a pint to drink – cider or other.
It is quite easy to lose the art of dreaming as civilisation has made it simple for the young person to enslave themselves in society until death, without accomplishing anything of significance.
Regaining the art: Dreaming again Only those fed up with eating manna, per se, are ready to start regaining the lost art of dreaming! Every young person has a dream, yet will only realise that they had one when they are old and their years are sent on in slavery and say “If only I did what I really wanted in life, I would have been....”
Regaining the lost art of dreaming just needs the young person to make sure that the dream is kept safe, well nurtured, does not disrupt lifestyle or family, friends and academics, and most importantly kept as a secret until the day after explosion, as an atomic bomb.
Don’t stop dreaming young people, because you will start dying, or worse, become a new age slave.
Scripture: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. I Corinthians 2:9
