Yes, I made it Rumbi, though i missed four days, but i thank God that I made it. It was a little different from the other camps in that the majority were 1st time campers who were not told how YE usually is, so they set up their own atmosphere. Previously, the seasoned campers would be stamping their authority and make new campers feel like visitors, not this time. It was awesome, real "family" camp. i've never seen so many people crying on the last day of camp, and nobody wanted to leave! Tiri had a hard time asking people to get on the bus, till in the end even the usually prayerfully calm Tiri lost his patience and got a huge branch from a tree that had fallen the previous night (on a girl camper, who miraculously got away with a little shock and dizziness). Drove them like cattle onto their buses.
First I thought there were going to be just a handful of people because of the economic condition, and also I thought parents would keep their kids away because of fear that if cholera breaks out in such a gathering...
But when I got on camp the atmosphere was completely different.. no fear, no anxiety, not even a discussion on cholera, and I did not hear of a single person that fell ill. I praise God for putting the enemy to shame coz this was an opportunity to discredit YE through an outbreak, bigger than that Sanganayi Creek's running tummy pandemonium , the other year, where everybody would just suddenly get up, do a little dignified walk out the meeting hall then once wen outside.... hit an incredible bolt to the nearest latrine!
Anyway, am now back in Zambia, will sing at a school on Monday, so pray.
