UNPLUGGED Schooling

School is in and OUT of our lives

Our school calendar for 2009 has been distorted. Many students have not been going to school for almost two months now – private and public schools. Neighbourhoods are filled with a new breed in the streets between 9am and 4pm, an addition to the usual hard nuts and school leavers. This breed is in and out of school making their life unplugged from academic sanity and grooming.

Is School Education?

The question that comes to the Zimbabwean teenager’s mind is, “Is School Really Education?”; because the student has not been going to school for a while this term. Yes, school is education because it is the platform to learn, hence get educated.

Higher Calling for the TEENAGER

Being a teenager today is not as easy as it was in the 90s. In the 90s, students would dread to miss school, but in these times, it really does not make a difference. The focussed teenager though, must ensure that all these disruptions are not affecting their learning. This is a higher calling. As a connected and resourceful generation, students must ensure that they study by themselves, and ensure that they get good grades.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:15

Wise Quote: The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. – Anthony Robbins.
