Let's analyse it.

This is my view. The Jats, who traditionally used to vote for the
Congress, switched this time to Ajay Singh Chautala. Team Anna can't
claim credit for Kuldeep Bishnoi 's victory.

And if at all the HJC's victory or INLD's second rank can be
attributed to IaC's anti-Congress campaign, with a plethora of charges
against these two candidates, how does Anna establish himself as a
crusader against corruption?

Anna's team should have taken into account the other implications of
the campaign in its calculations. In any case, neither is the Jan
Lokpal a guarantee against corruption, nor was defeating the Congress
in Hisar, a seat it had never won in the past, a big deal.

Hello every one,

In my opinion, congress was never in the contest, and the election result brought nothing new as far as defeat of congress is concerned. they were 3rd last time and they are 3rd this time too. Vote percentage has gone down and we can give many reasons for that. One main reason for this is very simple that once voters know that his candidate was 3rd last time and this time also he is not going to win then many people switch to other candidates. This is what happened this time. No Anna effect.

I would say that in Hisar election Anna has lost.

After Hisar election, one can see the wide open split in team Anna. I don't know what will happen after UP election.

this is no more a war against corruption, it is in fact a war again congress.

Best regards,

Kejriwal has done disservice to the anti-corruption movement by opting
to support Bishnoi. In retrospect, it appears that the decision was
wrong, despite the claims. I was expecting that Team Anna campaign
would lead to a massive surge for Bishnoi, but this did not happen.
Winning from traditional bastion of Bhajan Lal is no credit for his
son, particularly when the INLD polled good votes. We must remember
that INLD under Chautala is a defamed force, yet it polled heavily.
That the Congress would lose was on the expected line. It means that
all those who voted for INLD were not affected by Team Anna's campaign
against corruption.

The better option was for Kejriwal to contest the seat and asked for
votes. It is time Team Anna decided to form a political party if it
wants to make substantial difference to the way polity is being run.
By becoming a pressure group or doing things in bits and pieces you
may win the Magsaysay but cannot do much for the country.

I am sure that if Anna, Kiran Bedi and Kejriwal would have campaigned
together they could have got a landslide. But contesting demands lots
of guts unlike a Jantar Mantar show that can be stage-managed and
showcased for media.

Ever since Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections have been taking place
at different points of time rather than simultaneously, it has been a
trend that the party that rules at the Centre loses in the States.
Neither the Congress nor the BJP has been an exception to this norm.
So, how is this an Anna Effect?

But my dear Surjit,
Bihar is ruled by JD(U) , in fact for 2nd term, still they Won. Bottom line
is very clear, politician shall never allow any effective law to pass &
really concerned people to speak about them.

Now, somehow we need to kick these category out from scene, can this
happen??????

Kishun, I am not talking about anti-incumbency within a State. I am
talking about the anti-incumbent mood against the party at the Centre
effectuating in the States. Remember how PV Narasimha Rao ordered a
halt in economic reforms at the Centre after the Congress lost three
State elections beginning with the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections
badly?

I think that congress was rejected to send a message to the central
govt. This view is endorsed by the view that most rival candidates are
as tainted. The Ruchika Girhotra and similar cases had recently
refreshed public's memory of past INLD's tenures. BJP too is limelight
for gujarat IPS's arrest and for Karnataka. Also, forfeiture of
congress candidate's deposit is too stark for a congress ruled state.
Anna, contrary for rhetoric is not seen as a RSS stooge but as a ray
of hope among both middle and lower class masses. To be noted that
Anna agitation got traction not only in tier 1 cities but also in tier
2 and 3 cities. Masses need a hero and there is only one personality
who currently fits the mould.
