"The turban is considered an important part of the unique Sikh identity. The bare head is not considered appropriate as per gurbani.
If a Sikh wants to become one with his/her Guru, he/she must look like a guru (wear a turban).

Guru Gobind Singh stated:
Khalsa mero roop hai khaas. Khalse me hau karo niwas.
("Khalsa is a true picture of mine. I live in Khalsa.")
Maintaining long hair and tying turban is seen as a token of love and obedience of the wishes of Sikh gurus.

In the Khalsa society, the turban signifies many virtues:
Spirituality, Honour and self-respect, Responsibility, Piety and moral values, Courage & lots more." (taken from Sikhiwiki)

SNSM invites you to catch a glimpse of the UNITED TURBANS OF SAMELAN 2009.

Many of the campers tied many different style of turban and for some it was their first time they had an blessed opportunity to wear the crown of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

We hope this video inspires all the daughters and sons of the Panth to keep their hair and wear a Dastaar, and truly shine like the beacons of divine light that they are

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
