Dear Canadian Internet Governance Community,
We hope you had a restful weekend! We are emailing over our 24th issue of our newsletter,
The Canadian Connectivity Chronicles. You can read this most recent iteration online by
following this link. In this newsletter we are happy to share a new initiative we are leading on: The WSIS Youth Caucus.
Twenty years ago, when the World Summit on the Information Society was held and developed the Internet Governance Forum as well as other key initiatives in global information communication technologies development, Canadian youth spearheaded what was called the WSIS Youth Caucus to ensure that WSIS recognized youth of the day. As an organization, we decided to repeat this proud Canadian history with leading a WSIS Youth Caucus.
Peers from countries around the world including the Netherlands, Hong Kong, India, Germany, Benin, Chad, France, and, of course, Canada, are coming together in an ever-growing list to advocate for youth in the WSIS+20 Review Process which will be held at this year's United Nations General Assembly in December. Stay tuned for more information and our new purpose-built website, as well as, the WSIS Youth Caucus' response to the UN WSIS Co-Facilitators' Elements Paper which we will post prior to 25 July 2025.
Take care and have a lovely week!
Always Connected,
Youth IGF Canada Engagement Team
