School Kit Drive is back!!!

We are happy to launch our initiative called "School Kit Drive 2013". It is aimed at providing school kits to financially challenged students at chosen schools, slums and orphanages in and around Chennai.  The School Kit contains a school bag, notebooks, geometry box, pen, pencil, eraser and sharpener.  It is entirely volunteer-driven, right from fund raising and packing to distribution and followup.  One School Kit costs just Rs. 250, and this can go a long way in changing a child’s future.
Last year we raised funds for 1000 kits and how! This year let's aim to do it bigger and better!!

We are eagerly looking for contributions for this initiative.  We accept cheques, drafts and online transfer of funds, and all donations are exempt under Sec 80G of the Income Tax Act. Please see the attachment for our bank details or our address to send us your contribution.

Ways You Can Help:

YFS invites every one to participate in this campaign. Following could be a few ways to assist this activity:

• By sponsoring one or more school kits for children.

• By setting up a stall in your office/apartment to create awareness on this program among your neighbours and colleagues and to motivate them to donate some school kit items.

• By being the coordinator to collect contributions in your company.

• By approaching your companies’ HR team, requesting them to sponsor this project by either matching employees’ contribution or sponsoring a fixed number of kits.

• By bringing to YFS’ notice, any school/ learning centre in your vicinity which needs assistance provided by the School Kit Program, and taking a lead in running this activity for that school.

• By volunteering to distribute the School Kit (Especially college students who have vacations in June, July).

Dear Volunteer,

The project 'School Kit Drive' is our only fund driven activity and it requires tremendous support from each of you. It is completely volunteer driven right from raising funds, to sourcing items, to packing & distribution.

Please help us by talking to your friends and relatives about the drive, speak to the CSR team of your company for sponsorship, talk to your college management for support, help us put up a stall at a prominent location - be it a college, your office campus, school, a supermarket or apartment complex.

For each donation there will be an acknowledgement receipt issued with 80G exemption.
