SMILE WELFARE FOUNDATION is making an effort to lay a positive foundation of change in the field of education for the underprivileged kids.

What?

Currently need volunteers to help children with their exam preparation at their centres in Elephant Gate & Purusaiwalkam.

When?

Week days or Week ends

4pm to 6 pm

Who?

Swabhiman is a Trust, working for the welfare of people with autism, located at Palavakkam on ECR. They engage children in various activities such as crafts, yoga, sports, music and other play therapy.

What?

Volunteers are required to help them with above mentioned activities.

YFS SCHOOL KIT DRIVE

School Kit Drive

Description

The School Kit promotion aims at providing school kits to financially challenged students at chosen schools, slums and orphanages in Tamilnadu. The School Kit contains a school bag, notebooks, geometry box, pen, pencil, eraser and sharpener and costs only Rs. 250/- to gift a school kit.

When?

April and May 2013

We are looking for Volunteers who will coordinate the campaigns for these programs in their Colleges/ Offices/ Apartments or Neighborhoods. It is a 1-month time bound project and you will be equipped with all the necessary training and campaign materials.

Reading sessions across Chennai

Who?

Sathya Sai Trust conducts reading sessions for the visually challenged students.

What?

Volunteers are required to read out the study materials brought by the students – both in Tamil and English, but predominantly in tamil.

When?

Every Sunday from 10am to 12 noon

Shram Daan with Nizhal

Who?

Nizhal an NGO that works towards promoting the tree culture in urban areas, creating awareness  of the role of trees, planting the right kind of trees and caring for trees, through collaborative efforts.

What?

Volunteers are required to help delelop the PWD tree park at Kotturpuram and also the park near TANUVAS, i.e.,  clearing off the area from plastics, stones and other wastes, water the plants, weeding and so on.

Other activities include ‘Free the Tree’ campaign, Tree survey, sapling plantation and many more.

When?

Every day (morning or evening)

Where?

1.   From Moolakadai, take the road leading to TANUVAS university and PAAL BOTTI ground. Beside is a huge cement milk bottle structure & a fenced ground with more than 200 saplings and a well.
