Hello Everyone,

This Saturday the YourTime Club will meet again at 5:30 p.m. at the UWA hostel plot, New Thippasandra, Link to the google map: http://is.gd/rl5p. A report of our meeting last time is accessible at: http://is.gd/tQvv/. The meeting and the beginning of the club was written about in the DNA, a PDF version of the report if at: http://is.gd/tQw5

This time we will quickly introduce the new members and recap the things we discussed last time in maybe about ten minutes for their benefit. Then we will short-list about three activity ideas and organize into groups which want to pursue those ideas. Some of these three ideas can be working with the neighborhood to develop uses for the land etc.

I will personally be introducing some ideas for the group to consider and maybe take-up as a possible course of action,

idea1) HOW DOES IT FEEL? A network of human weather sensors. Members who volunteer will commit to being sensitive to the parameters of crowd, pollution, noise and smell in the outdoors wherever they pass. It will be possible for people to call the volunteers anytime to ask about the levels/intensities of the sensed parameters. e,g if you live and work in Indranagar, people can call and ask you if it is crowded or noisy where you are and you can respond in some way.

idea 2) TIME BANK Can you think about how many hours of your time every week you can open up to others? So if you open up two hours of your time every week and specify the nature of your interest, people at large can propose relevant uses for those two hours. You can honour those proposals if they feel appropriate.

idea 3) WHAT NEVER GETS DONE A group of volunteers (including me) will offer our time (free of cost) to the Government of Karnataka and ask for suggestions for things to do. We will specifically invite activities which never get done by the state citing limitation of resources.

idea 4) On May 9th we do a simple meditation/de-stressing techniques primer with Manjushree.

idea 5) If any of you want to use the plot of land where we meet on Saturday for some project or experiment say so! We can discuss everyone's ideas and schedule them.

The club with get richer with ideas, possibilities and activities if more members join. So if you know anyone who owns their own time, let them know!

Also, now we have a SMS group (using Google SMS Channels) which you can join by sending a SMS with the content, “ON yourtimeclub” to 09870807070 or visit this page.

See you this Saturday (March 25th, 5:30 p.m.)!

best wishes,
