Hi,

I am new to ydf and am not sure if it is already possible to do what I want.

One of my uses is to record my cycling. The basic tweet is "d yfd rode 10 miles" but I add tags to indicate which bike I was riding and the purpose eg

"d yfd rode 10 miles #fixie #exercise"
"d yfd rode 10 miles #trek #leisure"
"d yfd rode 10 miles #bullitt #lwork"
"d yfd rode 10 miles #bullitt #leisure"

I want to track how much I am riding per day, week, month and year. I want to see trends and I want to be able to see this for all "rode" as well as broken down by tag.

It would be really good to see the current month or year to-date with a comparison to the same length within the previous month or year.

Finally, I want to use this to prepare my expenses claim for cycling. For that a list of all the measurements in a month that are tagged #work is needed. However, it would also be fantastic if I could add a note (or comment) to a measurement eg

"d yfd rode 10 miles #bullitt #lwork // General Hospital Visit"
"d yfd rode 10 miles #bullitt #lwork // Funeral visit re Fred Blogs"

Many thanks

Dave

Hi David,

There's not a straightforward way to do that now, unfortunately,
although I see why that'd be useful. You could create a "page" in the
top-right drop-down menu, and select the "total logged over time"
module. That doesn't take into account tags though.

Another way you could try it is instead of "miles" in your message,
you could use the category. This isn't as intuitive, but you would be
able to see to breakdowns in the stacked area chart. For example,
instead of using hashtags, you could try:

d yfd rode 10 fixie-exercise
d yfd rode 10 trek-leisure

Then the unit of "miles" would just be assumed.

I'm looking at a similar situation, but I want to see a comparison between tags. For instance I'd like to see each tag's maximum or average value on something like a bar graph. Is something like this included?
