STOP WAGE THEFT NOW!

NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

Thursday, November 19, 2009

11am -12pm

San Francisco City Hall, front steps, Polk St.

All over the country workers, families, community groups, unions and clergy are taking to the streets to speak out against the most prominent and nefarious crime committed every day against hard working people- WAGE THEFT!

Wage theft includes failing to pay workers the minimum wage or overtime, misclassifying workers as independent contractors and therefore failing to pay payroll taxes, provide worker's compensation insurance, or unemployment insurance, and other employment violations to cheat workers of their basic rights in the workplace.

Please Join Chinese Progressive Association, Young Workers United, La Raza Centro Legal, Filipino Community Center, and Pride at Work, with the NBC Workers Campaign, local unions, local policy makers, and many more allies for a press conference and rally as we speak out against WAGE THEFT and stand in solidarity with  the INTERFAITH WORKERS JUSTICE NATIONAL WAGE THEFT CAMPAIGN AND WORKERS all over the country on:

Thursday, November 19, 2009

11am -12pm

San Francisco City Hall, front steps, Polk St.

We’ve had enough of unscrupulous employers taking money out of the pockets of hard working people who would otherwise put their wages right back into the economy.   Wage theft isn't limited to an industry, a race or age group. Wage Theft hurts working families, hurts local economies, hurts responsible businesses and ultimately hurts us all.  Its time for San Francisco to take the lead and put resources into enforcing and strengthening our rights as working people and important players in the success of our community!
