Hello Capacity team,
I have been thinking that we should run a series of workshops during COP. Maybe it is one every day, maybe it is less frequently...but I think it would be very good to run a regular session that any youth can attend. I also think it doesn't need to be just done by young people - it could be possible to bring in others to run sessions. Here are a few ideas:
- ACE - association for climate education has a terrific communications person coming interested in providing support. Run an 'effective communications campaigns' workshop
- Bring in several negotiators from global south and/or several global south campaigners and prepare youth on how to support strong country positions inside the negotiations
- 'How to lobby' - a training on what you do to push your point one-on-one
Those are just three examples of what I think could be possible. Planning these could be fairly easy - find people to lead the sessions, schedule them, advertise them and help set them up. The COY WG has already identified some great facilitators but I imagine we could expand our options considerably, especially if we think outside of the youth movement as well.
That is just a quick thought. Is anyone interested to work on this? lead on this?
