Hi Tim,

Have you thought about the possibility of running a session on
Saturday or Sunday for the children? I'm wondering if there is any
interest from other parents for fencing at the weekends?

Hi All,

We run practice sessions on Saturdays, 2 pm - 5 pm at Finsbury centre.
Those are for our club members (adults) who want just to have some extra
fencing. The sessions are unsupervised and do not include a class,
although it's possible to book individual lessons.

If there is an interest we can allocate a piste or two for children's
fencing. Obviously we'd need at least two (and ideally more) young
fencers to show up at the same time. The salle is not particularly busy
between 2 pm and 3 pm, most members come later, so this would be the
best time for the children. To have an extra hour or so for fencing
practice of course would be very beneficial to their progress.

Costs: perhaps, the best arrangement would be to book 20 min individual
lesson on the day and fence before or/and after the lesson. The
individual lessons cost between 12 and 16 (depending on whether
they're pre-paid or pay-as-you-go). This would also cover the fee for
the session. Alternatively, it can be a flat fee of 40 per term for
Saturdays.

Hi all -

I'd be interested in the flat fee option or if someone wanted to split a private lesson for a few Saturdays?

Hello, I might be interested in the flat fee per term, it is more accessible financially for us

Hello Tim
This sounds interesting but could you please clarify what the £12/£16 fee would cover--would it be for the practice session and a 20-minute lesson or just a 20-minute lesson? Also how many practice sessions and/or lessons would be covered by the termly £40 flat fee?
Thanks
Kara

We can offer Saturday sessions only to children who already attend our classes or those who have enough previous fencing experience. May I stress that these sessions are unsupervised, so the child and (possibly the parent) will need to know how to put the kit on, plug into the piste, etc. One of our coaches will help to set up the piste but then, they might be busy with individual lessons. Volunteer supervising parent might be required.

Let me phrase the costs differently. It'll be £40 per term for every Saturday between 2 pm and 3.30 pm (including half term). However, if you book (or pre-pay for) 3 hours worth of individual lessons during that term (any days), then the Saturdays are free for you.
