Dear Friends,

We all are aware of the calamity that has struck in Uttarakhand and caused severe and widespread damage. The true extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained as most of the severely affected areas are as yet inaccesible by road, and the only means of getting there is by chopper.

Dehradun Round Table 51, the Table closest to the effected region, has embarked upon itself to anchor the relief measures on the ground on behalf of RTI, in association with various agencies like Indian Medical Association. In the first phase of relief operations, they have made essential supplies boxes of 20kg each. Each box is costing approx.Rs.2250/-. These boxes are being taken in choppers with doctors of Indian Medical Association under banner of Round Table India to flood affected areas.

In the second phase of relief measures, once the roads get repaired/opened up, they propose to ensure that the relief supplies are moved in bulk, to help alleviate the sufferings of the people in the most affected areas.
