ABOUT THE  SPEAKERS
SUCHITRA MADAN (M.Sc. Child Development, University of Madras) is a passionate special educator engaged in delivering interventions for children with learning difficulties and special needs. Over the last 19 years, she has worked with special needs children with learning disabilities, autism, ADD and others.
Having started her career as a research assistant under the guidance of Dr. M. C. Mathew, Chennai , Suchitra worked with Educare and Vasant Valley School, New Delhi.
An advocate for recognition of children with Learning Disabilities as meaningful contributors to the society at large, Suchitra has conducted workshops on “The Phonetic-based Approach” for teaching language skills. She has presented a paper on “Setting-up Learning Centres in Schools” at the national conference on Learning Disabilities in Chennai, and has co-authored a book based on the phonetic method of teaching spellings to children called “Educare Spelling Series”.
