My dear Young Stationers and friends,

Hullo - and I hope all of you have had very good Easters indeed!

I'm deeply grateful indeed that the editor of Wisden will be marking 150 years of the Bible of Cricket, and the return of sunny weather, with dinner with us on the 8th May, in Pall Mall at the Rag.  (Lord's also offered us a generous charity rate to hold it in the grounds, but the Rag, perhaps sensing vulnerability, offered us a bespoke gin-and-tonic sorbet.)

Please do come join us!  There are a few more details in the flyer which I'm attaching, and do just me know however at all I might help.

There are also just a few other bits and bobs coming up, which I'd thought I might mention:

29th May, we will have dinner at the Honourable Artillery Company with our friend Ruth Gledhill, religion writer from The Times.

6th June, a group of us will join other Stationers and the Household Cavalry for Oaks Day at Epsom Downs.  A few of us went along last year as well, and it was superb fun, even though none of us were extraordinarily lucky with the horses.  (It's possible this is an understatement.)

8th July, from midday until 4 pm, a group of us who will be involved in mentoring students at the new Stationers' Academy will gather for lunch and a discussion of what is involved with mentoring.

It's also somewhat possible a few of us might gather on the 25th May, possibly at the Goucho, for a few drinks and dinner (and possibly just a bit of birthday cake).  There's also the slightest chance this might move back by a week or so, if I pop off to cover elections in the Ukraine.

with all very best wishes,
Paddy
