Autumn Diary for the Young Stationers
Dear friends, I was wondering if I might give all of you two dates for your diaries.
As some of you might know, we are awfully fortunate to have Lord Best, the new chairman of the Communications Committee, coming to speak to the Young Stationers on 12th October.
This will be in the ballroom of the Lansdowne Club, and the Communications Committee is where hearings are now taking place on BBC Charter Renewal.
We're tremendously lucky, too, to have the new editor of City AM, 27-year old Christian May, coming to speak to us on 7th December. This will be our Christmas dinner, and we will be in the Oxford and Cambridge Club.
Christian very much himself qualifies to be a Young Stationer, and his newspaper straddles journalism with the City of London.
I'd be extremely grateful if you might keep both dates free. We are taking bookings for October's dinner now (£65 to 30-96-35 and account 02779270 - or please email if you'd rather send a cheque).
Our quarterly meeting of the Young Stationers' Committee will be this coming Wednesday, in the Committee Room of Stationers' Hall at 7 pm. Do please let me know if you might like to come.
