"October 13th - Day of Resistance"
Nation Wide Protest against #Injustice and #Discrimination
In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi administration's trigger happy 'encounter' policy has been exposed. We witnessed how Yogi Adityanath personally met the family of Mr Tiwari and announced compensation and job. We also saw how opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav were courting the family.
And then we thought about the family of Mustaqeem who was killed on camera by UP police and there was absolutely no outrage, not even from the opposition. Was it because they were too poor, or is the killing of Muslims in India going to be accepted as a new normal?
Will Indian Muslims just watch the situation and accept their status as second class citizens, or will we use this opportunity to come together and join hands?
Let's join hands and create our own agenda, ahead of the 2019 elections.
A group of ordinary professionals, activists, journalist and academics from all sections of the Muslim community have decided to mark the upcoming October 13th as a "Day of Resistance" and this is an important opportunity to speak up.
