Respected Yoruba Compatriots, good evening.

In the book Modern Practical Dictionary Yoruba - English English - Yoruba,
the author Dr. Kayode J Fakinlede made very worthy proposals on Yoruba

I hope that Dr. Fakinlede makes these pages available as suggested. It could be a major foundation upon which we can build a re-writing of mathematics in Yoruba.

Sirs,
In response to your earlier request. I am delighted to make available, Part C of YORUBA, MODERN PRACTICAL DICTIONARY. This is the part that deals with mathematics and science exclusively, as you have indicated.
I am also making available, some pages from another dictionary, MOGERN DICTIONARY OF THE YORUBA LANGUAGE. This text is exclusively devoted to science and mathematics.
As far as the YORUBA DECIMAL NUMBER SYSTEM (page 665) is concerned, I must be quick to point out that I found it necessary to adopt this system FOR SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES. It is not meant to challenge or replace current system of numbering. It is my hope however that, because of its simplicity to learn and to use, our children can have fun using it.
If someday, we all find it desirablre to think of other ways to call numbers, this may be one of the ways to consider.
I do believe that we have much, much work to do in the science, mathematics and technology areaS so our children can use our language to express themselves adequately without resorting to English, or worse, a combination of Yoruba and English. A prominent Yoruba leader once referred to the way we now speak our language as AMULUMALA.
K'A MA RI.
Regards
Fakinlede
