I ordered a ardupilot, want to built a quadcopter, I am located in Hellam, and have like 300 acres in my backyard, anybody already doing that? tsw...@aol.com

Hi Thierry,

It looks like I’m the sole member of the York PA Area UAV Fliers group. I started that a long time ago when trying to get such groups going was being promoted on the DIY Drones site. I’m afraid this group never took off.

I have been flying my DIY drone for over a year now and it’s been a lot of fun. I have no experience with quads, though. I usually fly at my RC club field, which is in Buck, PA (near Quaryville), but I sometimes fly at Rexroth Park, which is only a few miles from where I live in Craley. Since you are in Hellam, we’re pretty close.

I posted a video on YouTube some time ago describing the amateur UAV activity. It’s been pretty popular and I saw a peek in views this past week, probably due to the items in news on Amazon using drones to deliver packages and another group that is already using drones to track and kill wild pigs. Here’s the link if you’d like to have a look. The flight was done at the RC club field I mentioned.

I am in the group too...lol...I have a quadcopter I made with a flyduino mega all built from scratch...I'm down for the winter though I need some motors and arms replaced...you can check mine out at http://quadcopter.netreadydesign.com...I am from the York/Spring grove area...I can try to help if you have questions...
