Another thing that Dave suggested was a wifi enabled widget to control IR and RF remote controls.

I got the one above as it seems to work well with all my RF sockets. There is an Android app for controlling it but that gets annoying quite quickly so Dave recommended a bridge app that runs on a spare phone.

Just wanted to share the python library that I found:


It's written by Matthew Garret so the code should be a lot better than the device itself! Seems to work pretty well.

Now just to hook that up to node-red so that my lights can adjust to my whim. ( You can never throw too much technology at a problem )

Nice find on the Python library - looks like this didn't exist when I last looked.

By the way,  do you still have any offcuts of perspex? I need to get hold of a thin metre-long strip from somewhere,  ideally frosted,  to diffuse and protect my LED strip...

There should be some kicking around the space. If you have a use for it
