Lulzbot upgrades

Hi all,

We've been looking at the Lulzbot and trying to get it printing as well as the Anycubic. The hotend is old and the extruder is poor, so I was considering buying replacements for both. This would be:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002781074910.html - Extruder, £48.71 (direct-drive for high print quality)

I've ordered from Trianglelab on Aliexpress before and they make very high-quality parts at good prices.

Hello,

I think upgrading the Lulzbot is probably a good idea.
I suspect it will become something of a Ship of Theseus at some point soon, but it hasn't been particularly usable lately, and something needs to print through our stock of 2.85mm filament.

If the hotend is part of the issue then I'm certainly in favour of an upgrade.

IIRC sometimes the thermistor wire partially disconnects somewhere and it panics, so replacing all the hotend stuff back to the RAMPS should also cure that.

Happy to lend a hand if needed to get it all set up.

Hi all,

I was getting ready to put the order in and I completely forgot Aliexpress charges VAT at checkout - so overall it'll be £81.43.

I'll wait another 48h before ordering just in case anyone has issues with this.
