Enquiry: Non-Functioning Circuit Boards

Hello York Hackspace community,

My name is Robin, and I’m interested in electronics recycling and board recovery projects. I’m currently looking to acquire non-functioning circuit boards—such as from old computers, servers, or other electronics—for learning and experimentation purposes.

I wanted to ask if anyone in the community:

• Has spare or decommissioned boards they no longer need

• Knows of local sources or small-scale collections of surplus electronics

• Could provide advice on safely acquiring such boards

I’m happy to arrange collection or pickup locally if that’s convenient, and I’m mindful of safety and proper handling.
