Hi,

After being exposed to rails for a couple of weeks now I had to get
this idea out of the way. Using redmine to manager our software
repository. It's our number 1 resource for revision control and QA. So
having our package information at our fingertips and in machine
processable form can be leveraged in many ways.

Now I only just started and there is certainly loads to do. However, a
quick preview can be seen here:

http://powerplant.yoper-linux.org/binary_packages. The information in
the database is live and is updated with every new package that's been
built. Now this particular view is for any package that we have on the
server. So you will see many duplicates. Next thing to do is have a
view just for the latest versions of each package. As a matter of fact
I do have that information in another table so getting it online
should only be a matter of minutes now :D . Not at 2 a.m. though ...

The URL has slightly changed. Append /list to get packages listed.

A slightly more mature version can now be found at :
http://powerplant.yoper-linux.org/packages .

You can now search for any packages and - if you know a newer version
has been released - you can also request a package update by simply
entering the new package version. These update requests will be
processed immediately. If everything works out fine, a newer version
of this package is available in the repository . If the package update
fails it still needs manual intervention. Ideas how to handle this
process are welcome.

Please check it out and let me know what you think :) .
