Dear Yokohama JALT Members,

Our February event is Technology in Language Teaching

Close to 100% of tertiary students in Japan now have a mobile device and most schools have wireless Internet capabilities, so how can language teachers capitalize on these conditions? This workshop style event will feature presentations from the chief editor and contributors to Digital Mobile Language Learning (http://dmll.jaltcall.org), a collection of online publications for teaching and learning languages using technology.  This workshop features Kevin Ryan speaking about Project Based Learning (PBL) and Badges for class management, Dan Ferreira on Digital Literacies, Simeon Flowers talking about LINE BAND, Travis Cote on the use of smart-phone video and Brett Milliner with a tutorial on using SurveyMonkey.

Time: 1pm-4.45pm

Location: Tamagawa University, Building 5, Room 424.  Machida City, near the Tamagawagakuen-Mae station (exit 1). Access

There will be opportunities for discussion and questions concerning technological issues teachers are facing in their language classroom.

After being cooped up in the snow the previous weekend, we hope you can make it out the next for our event!
