What an odd problem I have.

I have Yojimbo 2.0 installed on 2 MacBooks - both are early 2009
models, one being a white MacBook and the other an aluminum model
(just before Apple changed the aluminum ones to MacBook Pro). Both
systems are running OS X 10.6.1, and MobileMe keeps everything synced,
including Yojimbo. No problems with sync.

I often use Notes to capture research and ideas, which means that I
keep the Note open and add content as I go - text, images, whatever.
This usually works great.

But on the Aluminum MacBook, the text window scrolling does not stay
put. As the Note gets longer, there is a greatly likelihood that the
Note window will automatically scroll the displayed content up to the
top of the Note or sometimes in the middle, despite the fact that the
insertion point is still at the very bottom where I left it after
writing the last bit of text (!!!). This is very distracting, as I
must either 1) start typing to force the Note to display the "bottom"
of the text where the insertion point is, or 2) scroll manually to the
bottom of the text in order to drag an image or URL into the Note.

On my white MacBook, this does not happen. Notes stay put and do not
"autoscroll" at random.

Knowing that the Note editor in Yojimbo is really the built-in editor
from OS X, I tried moving the same document to TextEdit. No problems
there.

I tried deleting the Yojimbo preferences. No change.

What the heck is going on? I'd love to fix it!

This is a known problem which we intend to fix for a maintenance
release. If you have a recipe for reproducing the problem, please send
it to sup...@barebones.com so we can ensure that the problem you are
running into is the one we’ve reproduced internally.

It's not just you -- I've been running in to the same problem on two
different MacBooks Pro, both running 10.6.1. I submitted a bug report
to Bare Bones, but I'm gratified to know that they're already working
on it.

I am dropping a post to this forum to say that Yojimbo 2.1 appears to
have fixed the problem I brought up in this thread. Yesterday I spend
hours updating a long document with text and images (doing research
and taking notes) and it remained happily stable the whole time. The
results were then easily exported to PDF (36 pages) for attachment via
email and everything got done.

Running OS X 10.6.2 on an early 2009 Aluminum MacBook.

Yay!
