as much as people beg for it, bare bones' policy is not to discuss
this matter on this email forum, even if they do read it. so
begging/ranting/demanding here is going to do you no good. if you
expect a response, email them directly.

i, for one, don't want yojimbo on my iphone. i've got thousands of
records, mostly PDF files saved straight to yojimbo. my database file
is huge. no way i want that content on my iphone.

you also need to understand this is a user discussion list for users.
never once has bare bones said they will provide technical or
non-technical support via this un-official form.
you also need to understand it is bare bones official policy (which
they have stated) not to comment on future development. they've said
it a number of times before. just because YOU are asking now they
aren't going to bend the rules. i know you're a student, but you have
to understand corporations have complex rules, obligations and laws
they need to follow when it comes to public disclosures on products,
development, company policies, etc. just take a look at how apple
handles "leaks". so, would you prefer bare bones to do what they are
supposed to and keep quiet, or waste money and time fending off
lawsuits because someone said something they shouldn't have?
as we have said on this list many times. if you like how yojimbo works
for you TODAY, then spend the money and purchase it. there is a
generous trial period. if you don't like how it works, here and now,
with the existing features it has, then don't buy it. no one forces
you to. if another product meets your needs, then, go buy it, raving
about it here isn't going to do you any good, only make you look like
a fool.
if anything, i wish we could assemble a FAQ that was sent to all new
subscribes on this list. making them aware of what this list is and
isn't for, and answering this all-too-often brought up topic..
yep, a lot of hot air is wasted making repeated requests, and telling
people that making such requests is a waste of hot air. a FAQ might
cut down on it all. however, i do try to be informative and tell
people where they should turn (contact BB directly) vs just flaming
them outright. i have no idea if you're a member of this list for 2
days or 2 years, and if you've been around that long then you should
know better.
"Suitable topics include Yojimbo's use for collecting and retrieving
information for various tasks, questions about existing product
features, sharing AppleScripts, etc."
No where does it say:
Official support or commentary from Bare Bones staff
Feature requests
Requests for future versions for other platforms
Communication with Bare Bones staff
However if you go to the Bare Bones Software Contact page located at
<http://www.barebones.com/contact/index.html>.
You will see that all "Product-related feedback and questions, feature
requests, and problem reports" should be contacted via email to
"sup...@barebones.com" or use the Technical support contact form
located at <http://www.barebones.com/contact/technical.html>.
You might want to fight for your "right" to whine on this list, I'm
trying to point out where your requests/complains would be best
directed. Beg for an iPhone or nested sub-folders on here all you
want, the users on this list do not have the power to grant those
wishes, if you're serious about your complaints, send them to where
they will be properly filed, logged, tracked, managed and possibly
replied to by the people who wrote the software, not the end-users.

However, they don't. It's not a good place to send suggestions. I'm
not sure what _is_, but it isn't here :)
Incidentally I don't give two hoots about an iPhone client; I don't
have an iPhone or iTouch and, despite appearances, actually not that
many Mac users do. I'd like a reliable Palm client personally (Yojimbo
support for Palm note syncing is just broken with current versions of
Missing Sync before anyone says anything, though that I imagine is not
BB's fault). I'd like proper smart folders before any of that.
